Was a bit overrated by Holland H. at InsiderPages
Keep in mind that we only ate there once, but once was enough. The pizza was dry, veggies were chewy, flavor wasnt the best either. Ive heard good things about it so I'm not sure if we caught them on an off day or not. However the service was excellent.

Excellent Food by Marci S. at InsiderPages
I have been to Oregano's a few times and every time I have enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Their wings and salads are great and you can't leave without trying their skillet baked cookies...they are to die for.
Wait time for a seat can get long but if you are there with a friend there is usually room at the bar.
Service is excellent...one of my favorite places to eat.

Pretty Good for T.G.I.Fridays of Italiano by Kaitlin O. at InsiderPages
So...at first glance, it seems a little on the kitschy side -- a little T.G.I.Friday's Italiano -- and the service isn't always dependable, but interesting menu choices and reasonable prices make up for it. My fav is the VEGGIE WEDGIE -- and i'm not even a Vegetarian! It's all about the sauce and the seasoned Criss-Cut Fries!!! You may feel like a 5-year-old at the grown-up table with the big booths and the big menus and big drinks, but the *HUGE* portions and small bill will make you happy that the parent inside of you chose Oregano's !

Always a great meal by Andrea O. at InsiderPages
Oregano's is a very popular restaurant with the locals in Tempe, AZ. Their food is Italian with unusual choices, such as artichoke lasagna (one of my personal favorites). They also have pizza and other regulars that you will find on an Italian menu. The food is fantastic, as is the service. The best part of the meal is their well-known pazookie: a cookie baked in a deep-dish pizza pan with ice-cream on top. That description cannot even begin to describe how scrumptious this dessert really is! Be prepared to wait in line during normal lunch and dinner hours.

Pizza and wait by Jessica W. at InsiderPages
There is usually a long wait at dinner time, but there are really not a lot of other places to eat in the area and the food is amazing. The pizza, wings, and salad are all worth a try. The dessert is a must so leave some room if you can.

Great Place, Great Wings and Pizza by ROBERT W. at InsiderPages
I absolutely love this place. I can not wait to go back. I think I have fallen inlove with the Italian Gold Wings. I must say though that the wings are usually my only order so I have really taken other people's word for the other food. Definitely family friendly since my wife and 5 year old son always come along with me. Definitely a place you want to check out.

Turn down the music!
The food is great; the service is great; the atmosphere could be great -- but the music is so loud you can't hear your server or the person sitting next to you. I like my music loud in the right settings, but this is a place you want to go with your friends to chat and relax and have a fantastic meal. It's my favorite restaurant for lunch, except invaribly when I suggest it at work, someone will say, "Oh, let's not go there, we can't talk!" The manager has told us on several occassions that this is the most common complaint he receives. However, the owner is the one who sets the music level and the staff cannot change it. The restaurant on University is actually not so bad, but the one in Mesa is ridiculous. One thing about the Mesa restaurant -- you never have to wait at the lunch hour for a seat -- at least I've never had to. As good as the food is, there must be another reason!

Large menus and Large portions by Michael O. at InsiderPages
Ok, you may have to wait a little, but it is definately worth the wait! The front of the menus are designed from old album covers, but inside, the food selections are very good and creative. The cajun chicken pasta is very recommended, and getting the loaf of garlic bread to get your group ready is a good way to start off your meal. The salads they offer are huge portions, and most likely will require a take home box, but that's okay because you can continue the good meal at home!

great family place
I have heard about oreganos from that az morning show with lisa haffner. She raved about it one time they were on the show, and they had brought some food on to tase...OMG it looked so good I never forgot the name of that resturant.
So yesterday was our first time going. We have two children 2 and 4 yrs old, so we are always hesetant of dining out...if you have kids you know what I mean. We were seated right away, the whole staff was there to greet us, all smiles and GREAT attitudes! We ordered, MMM and then We ate MMM MMMM MMMMM MMMM MMMMM I had the lasagna, yes I took half home, but it was OSODELICIOUS..:)
and My kids were so behaved. It was the first time ever that they actually sat there and liked it. They brought out some doe for them to play with and the music kept my daughter happy. I was so pleased. And we have to wait 30-45 minutes for the lasagna dish, because it's fresh, so we were in the resturant for over an hour possible almost two, I wasn't really counting it was to much fun. I will definetly be returning!

THE BEST RESTAURANT
Oregano's is my favorite restaurant in town. I start jonesing after about a 10 day absence. I have not experienced a dirty waiting area....has to be the ticked off people having to wait to get in, but a wait is a sign of a good restaurant. If you frequented this place often, you would know that to get in without a wait, you have to go at off hours...that's how popular this place is. The food is fabulous ( prepare for 2-3 meals out of your serving), and the price is so cheap, it's unbelievable. Try the Big Kahuna Tuna, and for an appetizer, the Guacatoni can't be beat. I hear the pizza is fabulous, but I can't get off the tuna sandwich.
The staff not giving a darn??? Hard to believe. They are so friendly, they sit and hang out with me a little bit and tell me what's new with them and ask me the same. If you don't like a friendly staff, find a different restaurant.

Never Going Back
I have been to Oregano's once and it will be my last. The place when we first walked up was dirty and so was the wait area. The A/C was inefficient. It seemed to just give hot air even after being there for about the 45 minute wait before our pizza was served. The waitress was very rude and was not interested to help out, she'd rather have been sitting chatting with her friends. The manager was sympathetic but did little to help out. We will definitely not be going back.

Great place to eat! by Amanda S. at InsiderPages
This place has some of the best pizza and wings I have ever tasted. Their salads are good too! And the dessert (called a P-zookie) is out-of-this-world! The service is great, and the atmosphere is very fun. They play good music, and the staff really seems to enjoy working there.
